This Privacy Policy is published to demonstrate compliance with the GDPR – it covers how I collect, use, and disclose personal data when you use my Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

Stewart King Environmental Engineers Ltd – henceforth SKEE – operates this website   http://save-energy.org     as part of the “Service” I provide to clients.

I use your data to provide and improve the Service and by employing me you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in my general Terms and Conditions available here

Essential Definitions within the Privacy Policy

Personal Data is data about a living individual who can be identified from the data (or from other information in my possession or likely to come into my possession).

Usage Data is data collected automatically either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).

Cookies are small pieces of data stored on a User’s device.

Data Controller means a person who (either alone or jointly or in common with other persons) determines the purposes for which and the manner in which any personal data are, or are to be, processed.  Since I am a one-man-band the Data Controller is Stewart King.

I only use your Personal Data to contact you in context of contracted work or periodically to send information I feel may be of use and/or interest.

Business Data

I carry out on-site surveys of commercial / business premises.  I collect data in respect of business properties (including physical measurement and photographic evidence) of structures, processes and behaviours.  Energy and environmental data is collected and used within recommendations reports.  In providing me with that data or access to your business it is assumed that you have given permission for that data to be collected, stored in my office and disclosed with relevant reports I produce as a result of my surveys. 

I may ask you to provide certain identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify your business (“Business Data”).   Business data will include, but is not limited to:

  • Email address
  • Contact first name and last name
  • Phone number
  • Address including Postcode
  • Utility bills which will also include all of the fore-going details

Usage Data

Through my website hosting service I may collect information in respect of Usage Data that may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

Tracking Cookies Data

My website hosts use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on the website and can hold certain information.

Cookies are files with small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. Tracking technologies also used are beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze the Service.

I use collected data for various purposes:

Retention Of Data

I retain Personal Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.  I retain and use Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with legal obligations (for example, if I am required to retain data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce legal agreements and policies.

I retain Business Data for at least 10-years in line with the current requirements for Commercial Energy Performance Certificates and the Energy Savings Opportunities Scheme (ESOS)

I have signed and will always work to the Codes of Conduct set out by CIBSE, The Energy Institute and ECMK/E-Tech which in combination cover the full scope of my services.

All data is retained on a password protected computer (in my locked office) with back-up copies on encrypted external hard-drives that are maintained in a separate locked location close to but discrete from the office.

I will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of my Service, or I am legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

Transfer Of Data

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction.

If you are located outside United Kingdom and choose to provide information to me, please note that I transfer the data, including Personal Data, to United Kingdom and process it there.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.

I will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

  • To rectify any Personal Data held about you that is inaccurate
  • To request the deletion of Personal Data held about you

You have the right to data portability for the information you provide to me and you can request to obtain a copy of your Personal Data in a commonly used electronic format so that you can manage and move it.  Please note that I may ask you to verify your identity before responding to such requests.

Service Providers

I may employ 3rd-party companies and individuals to facilitate the Service (“Service Providers”), to provide the Service on my behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist me in analyzing how the Service is used.  These 3rd-parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on my behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Analytics

I do not use 3rd-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of my Service.  I do not use re-marketing services.  I do not use Google AdWords.
