In the UK I think it is fair to say that we all require comfort heating for a significant proportion of the year (from 28-36 weeks of the heating season depending on where you are located). As a result the energy spend dedicated to providing comfortable living and working conditions as well as hot water is a major burden.
There are so many different mechanisms with which you can heat your property that I have split this section up into what I regard as the most common areas for consideration and explanation.
I hope that you find this approach useful – if nothing else it helps me get my head around the various options!
- Boilers and Radiators
- Heat Pumps
- Electric heating – wall mounted
- Electric Heating – ceiling mounted radiant panels
- Industrial heating
- Churches and other “hard to heat” properties
